If you’re anything like me, you’re currently holding onto the last remnants of autumn in all their shining, colorful glory. This season surely brought us a multitude of trends- some that left me wondering “who decided silk pajamas should be office wear?“. And some that made me raise my hand and proudly call myself a hardcore outfit repeater.
So before we all go into wardrobe hibernation and wear the same leggings and sweater until March, I’m sharing my go-to fall trends for 2016. And if you’re needing a little Thanksgiving outfit inspiration, I’ve got the perfect combination for comfort, style and a little extra room for some turkey and pie!My first go-to for this season is over the knee boots. I’ve more recently jumped on this band wagon, and let me tell you- it’s a great place to be. It’s my oh so humble opinion that you can never truly go wrong with a little bit of black suede in your life.Dresses, jeans, leggings, skirts- the possibilities of outfit choices to pair with OTK boots are endless. My second trend for the season is the trusty sweater dress. Comfort is key when choosing cold weather wear- so what could be better than one big sweater? For casual sweater dresses I generally go a little looser than necessary, but make sure it still has a shape– no one wants to look like big fuzzy box in family pictures!Lastly, an outerwear trend I’ve been all about for 2 seasons now is just making its way into every bloggers wardrobe- Blush. Coats. Now I’m sure you can guess that I’m a fan of anything blush, so I’ve fully embraced this fun way to add a little color to my otherwise monochromatic winter wear.Lucky for me, I snatched this J.Crew blush beauty at the sample store when I was blessed enough to live 3 minutes from their main warehouse. (my bank account was definitely NOT blessed for those four years of my life)So whether you’re headed to a casual Sunday brunch, or you’re attending a formal family celebration, these fall trends are solid go-to staples this season (and maybe next season too).
